Evelyne Gélinas, raised in St-Sévère in the Mauricie region, is both an avid flutist and weaver, and is the co-founder of a business dedicated to her work with textiles called Rien ne se perd, tout se crée… As one of the original members of Les Langues Fourchues, she has been making a name for herself as one of the foremost flute players in Quebecois traditional music since the group’s inception. She is a skilled player of silver and blackwood flutes as well as tin whistles, and in 2003 she earned a DEC in traditional music at the Cégep régional de Lanaudière in Joliette. Evelyne is also a respected singer and performs with the all-female a capella group Galant, tu perds ton temps.
